Home Update & New Rugs

It only took us four years & three couches later to find our dream couch! But here she is, in all her glory. It's the Del Mar sectional sofa from Z Gallerie (in Bermuda Natural). After struggling finding a sofa that met our comfort standards, I'm so excited to be able to say that we've found the one. I initially loved it for it's deep and wide cushions, but I have come to love how durable the fabric is as well. Super dog-friendly!

Now that I think about it, just as with the couch, it took me years to find a rug that I liked for our living room as well. I'll never forget the first one I bought from Home Goods. It was huge, it weighed a ton, cost me $1,000 and I hated it a week later. After a few more trial and errors I found a faux cow hide rug that I loved and it was only $150 (also at Home Goods). It was easy to wash, which I liked, and I liked the neutral tones.

Fast forward to today & I have something entirely different than I've ever had before in our living room and I am obsessed! Rugs USA is a site I've always browsed but never pulled the trigger on. I don't know what was holding me back! Their selection & price can't be beat. Not to mention, having a large area rug delivered right to your door step is much more appealing than trying to fit one in a Jetta and carry up 3 flights of stairs. Scroll below to see more home updates, including two new rugs from RugsUSA that I absolutely adore!

While I was always drawn to neutral tones, I decided to give something colorful a try. I'm so glad I did because this pinkish-red rug is the perfect pop of color against our dark, black hardwood floors. It also feels more my style, slightly bohemian but still sleek and classic. The color is Cherry Pink & the size is 5'3" x 7'7" (rectangle). I love how it compliments the white couch, don't you?

I wanted my bedroom to feel like a sanctuary, a place I could feel comfortable and relaxed (who doesn't, right?), so I felt it was okay to stick to my neutrals-loving tendency. So I went with the Muskeget Wool Tufted Diamond Jute Rug for this room in our house and I love how it turned out as well (Shout-out to Ashley for helping me decide on this one!). While the color is neutral, the textures of the jute's natural fibers, as well as the shag wool, make it fun! Our bedroom is painted a dark tan, so it brightens the space up nicely as well. The color is Bleached and the size is 5 x 8'.

I hope you've enjoyed this little home decor update & a special thanks to Rugs USA for outfitting our home with these two, beautiful rugs. Be sure to check out their selection of rugs up to 70% off, they also offer free shipping too! Some of my other favorites include this Moroccan Trellis Rug and this light pink Emblem rug. I wish I had more rooms to fill!

I'll continue to share with you as we make more changes. I have some ideas already flowing for our kitchen nook, our tiny bathroom and my office. You can check out my most recent project here. Also, I've listed some of my decor items (or similar ones) for you below. If you have a specific question about anything, leave a comment below!
