1. Spray detangler throughout your hair and comb through.
*Do not brush your hair without detangler. Breakage is not our friend!
2.Next, I use a keratin protien cream that is heat activated. That way, my hair is actually being repaired and conditioned while I am blow drying, leaving my hair with a smooth finish afterwards. I have become minorly obsessed with products. They do make a difference and so I do use them!
3. Spray a volumnizing spray at the roots for extra umph!
4. Seperate your hair into two, even parts. Using a large, round brush, start with blow drying the bottom half.
5. Invest in a great blow dryer. I swear by my José Eber Infrared Blow Dryer not only because of it's quick drying, but because of its use of light instead of heat. My hair doesn't feel fried when I'm done, and I have finally stopped hating blow drying my hair because of how hot I get by the time I'm done!
6. Trick for extra volume and wave in the front: Roll your "bangs" back in your brush and blow dry
heavily for a minute or two, front and back. (My hair stylist Nadine from PR at Partners in Tysons Corner taught me that one! Changed my life forever!)
7. Finish with some moroccan hair oil, running it through the mids to ends of your hair with your fingers and voila; the perfect blow dry!

meet nectar sunglasses! this is such a fun brand, celebrating those who live in the moment, and we really couldn't wait to share them with you. they carry a line of sunglasses, where not only the frames come in a ray of fun colors, but so do the lenses. priced from $13-$25, you can afford to get one of each color. you can even customize your own pair to order. and the best part is, if you lose or break them, just send them back and they will replace them with a brand new pair. amazing! these are the kinds of things i live for to find - a feel-good lifestyle brand, a great pair of mirrored sunglasses, and a refund policy that just brightens my day.

how awesome was yesterday's fashion filled post featuring the Pre-Fall Runway collection from BCBGMAXAZRIA? Lubov Azria's designs for the collection were inspired by the idea of the "romantic gypsy," resulting in looks so fitting for the upcoming transition from summer to fall. for lunch with Lubov we wore BCBGMAXAZRIA pieces (naturally) and embraced their spring/summer 2012 trends, including black and white and geometric prints.
Erika went for a summer whites look in a crochet mini dress and i went for a more structured look than i typically do, in a geometric top and printed trousers. i'm really more than pleased with our shoe choices, sprinting through the city to catch happy hour with the girls was much more pleasant in wedges and booties.
side note - today is Erika's 22nd birthday (so make sure to wish her a hbd)! happy birthday to my sister, best friend, and better half. i couldn't survive without you and i am so proud of the beautiful, smart woman you are today. i love that we get to celebrate your birthday in the outer banks this time :) love you more than the world! XO natalie
last thursday erika and i had the privilege of previewing the BCBGMAXAZRIA Pre-Fall Runway collection before it hits stores this season. a luncheon event, filled with delicious food and amazing fashion, hosted by Amanda Polk and Capitol File Magazine in the Adour restaurant at the St. Regis Hotel in DC. it was the kind of thing you wish you could do everyday.
Lubov Azria, BCBGMAXAZRIA's leading lady and the Chief Creative Officer of BCBGMAXAZRIAGROUP, opened the event by clarifying the meaning of the term pre-fall, which is summer styles in fall colors (also meaning you don't have to wait until fall to start purchasing!). she then described her collection as a mixture of lingerie and active wear with an emphasis on movement and how the woman looks as she walks away. she really couldn't have described it better.

Lacey Maffettone of A Lacey Perspective was among the many fashionable guests
quickly, the room filled with color, texture, and movement
each look was finished off with the Suspender Waist Belt or the Fringe Waist Belt,
which i think we can all agree that these are essential to our wardrobes
the show's finale, this moto jacket, was by far a dream piece
a quick shot with the amazing Lubov. we can't remember what we were laughing about here, but we just love this picture. from personality to style, she was great. we are all wearing a bit of BCBGMAXAZRIA; us a top and dress, and Lubov is wearing a gown and harness belt. more of our outfit details will be posted tomorrow!
visit our Facebook album for the rest of our snaps from the event, which includes more looks from the Pre-Fall Runway collection as well as how Lubov styles her harness.
All guests received a swag bag filled with Phyto hair care products, Temptu Retouch blush, a BCBGMAXAZRIA bunny iPhone case, eau de parfume, and scarf wrap, as well as the most recent Herve Leger lookbook and Capitol File Magazine.
