My Chemical Peel

Sounds scary, but let me tell you why it's not...

I don't know what it was, but over the last year or so I've really finally started to give skin care the attention it deserves. I used to go to bed with my make-up on often, which in turn meant I wasn't using any products at night, which is when they have the most time to work. It seems like a no-brainer, to take care of your skin because, you know, it's on your face (duh, Natalie). But I wasn't. I'm definitely a little late in the game, because half the battle is prevention, but better late than never. Little things like washing my face every night and investing in good moisturizers and cleansers has really helped. But, most recently, I had a chemical peel and it's really been the best thing I've done for my skin thus far.

I was referred to Rostami OPC by my friend Sara (who has amazing skin), which is where I underwent my very first chemical peel ever. Sara and everyone at the office even swears by them, so I had to try it out. Rostami OPC (located in Reston, VA) offers a few different options for peels and I started with the i.Brighten Mini-Peel. If you're unsure what I peel is, this specific one uses non-acidic ingredients that do not injure the skin in any way. The "procedure" (which is more like a facial) doesn't take long and doesn't hurt at all. It can be used to treat all skin types and is designed to improve the fine lines and age spots over the course of 1-4 treatments.

After my peel, I felt a mild tingling from the peel solution for just few hours afterwards. Then, for about 3-4 days, my skin lightly peeled. Rostami OPC provides all of the products needed to get through the peeling - An Anti-Redness Foamy Cleanser (i.Wash - which I purchased the full size of afterwards because I love it SO much), i.Brighten Cream to keep the peel going, i.Protect sunscreen and a heavy moisturizer.

I'm so happy with my results. I hardly wear face make-up anymore, my skin is so smooth (my boyfriend actually can't get over how smooth it is), and it's noticeably brighter! I get a lot of compliments on it too, which says a lot. Above, I'm pictured wearing no face make-up, just eye-brown pencil and a swipe of blush.

I think I was ignoring proper skin care because I always assumed fancy products and procedures wouldn't make that much of a visible difference. But the knowledgeable team at Rostami OPC has totally proven me wrong. I can't wait to get my next peel because now they're going to be a regular thing for me. I'm obsessed!

PS - Rostami OPC offers a variety of procedures, such as Fraxel, Botox and Microdermabrasion - You can see the full list here. Thanks again to Rostami OPC for my new, brighter skin!
