Cuffed

Photography by Julien

I have been a big fan of UncommonGoods since last year, around this same time, when I came across their site while shopping for Father's Day. I'm excited to have partnered with them again, this time to show off their jewelry section. You know we love our accessories here at The Fashionably Broke, we're always looking for new and interesting pieces to add to our collection. All handmade designs, like this Cactus Frame Necklace or this Shattered Glass Bib Necklace, make it likely that you'll find something you've never seen before, or even discover a new favorite artisan or designer like I did. I fell in love with the hammered silver and rose gold details of this bracelet and necklace by Dana Reed, who specializes in mixing metals and textures throughout her collections. Besides these pretty necklaces and bracelets, UncommonGoods has a great selection for your home and garden as well. Be sure to check it out, along with their long list of featured artists throughout the site. Happy Shopping! :)

Furla Candy Bags

Looking for the perfect summer it-bag? Meet Furla! I love to make a statement and their signature, rubber handbags (carefully curated in Italy, I might add) do just the trick for me. I love my Mini "Candy" Bag, which Erika picked up at Nordstrom for me, but there are so many more that are simply adorable. We have a feeling these are going to be popping up everywhere very soon! The pale pink just totally suits the feminine, summer vibe I have going on right now - Which Furla suits you best?

Handbags, What?

If you didn't notice before from all of the Stella & Dot I am always sporting here on this blog, or in those classic arm party pictures that I just love to post to Instagram, then the cat's out of the bag now! I am a Stella & Dot Stylist. It has truly been one of the best decisions I ever made. Besides that Stella & Dot such an awesome company to work for and the parties are so much fun, my jewelry stash has never been the same since.

When they first came out with a few purses, then some scarves, and even candles, I freaked. Now, as the main focus of their Summer 2013 Collection, they have released a line of adorable handbags and MORE accessories! From the little poofs that I just die for, to jewelry travel bags and huge totes, we are all in trouble. I wanted to share with you a few of the bags that I'm adding to my collection of samples for my trunk shows. They are so cute to mix and match and there are tons more on the website that aren't shown here so be sure to check them out here!

Body Armor

Truly Madly Deeply Shirt, La Petite Marmoset Vintage Blazer, Chevron Body Chain by Sultry Affair c/o Kate, American Eagle Boyfriend Jeans (lovely J Brand Pair), Alexander Wang 'Kim' Boots, Zara Handbag,
Stella & Dot Arrow and Fox Necklaces

I have been wanting to try out body armor ever since a saw it on... Shark Tank. Bet you didn't think I was going to say that! If you don't know, it's a show about entrepreneurs pitching their business ideas to some very powerful (and wealthy) investors. But yes, I watch Shark Tank, and a while back they had two girls on (which I think were sisters, and sister business partners are always a win in my book) that created a line of body armor jewelry (which I think was one of the very first ones) and I thought that it was pure GENIUS. this chevron, body chain is such a sexy, edgy compliment to my baggy, boyfriend jeans and preppy-profesh blazer, don't you think?

my friend Kate remembered that I said I loved this one and so she sent it to me; um, hello, you're awesome! I love a thoughtful friend that pays attention to detail. so, thanks again, Kate! and anyone out there reading, feel free to send your fashionably broke sista more jewels because you know I love 'em. ;)

gunmetal

this weekend my boyfriend and I decided to just enjoy each other's company and make no plans.  we ending up coming to a nice compromise once deciding what exactly we would be doing.  where we spent half of it drinking beers and eating wings while watching the final four games; and then the other half going on walks & enjoying the beautiful spring weather.  i finally got to take the tags off of some of my spring clothing.  shorts, boots, and a sweater is a great combination for the in-between seasons.  flirty flowers paired with strong gunmetal details to illustrate my new favorite trend -- contrasting patterns.

my Big Buddah Mia bag is one of my all-time favorite purchases, & i get compliments everywhere i go with it.  I love the structured frame and the three dimensional rose.  i mean what girl doesn't love roses right? it was a nice compliment to my floral pattern shorts.  and i got in on ebay, brand new, for half the price (always check ebay)!
