I had such a fun summer this year—there were weddings, travel, and many weekends at the beach—I never wanted it to end. But temperatures are beginning to change here in D.C., and my wardrobe transition has officially ensued. I’m not one to make a dramatic change, though. I like to adjust to a new season slowly and steadily.

The first step to this is embracing more fall-like colors. While it’s still warm enough to wear lighter fabrics and bare legs, pieces like this green leather jumper and a thin blouse are perfect for the beginning of fall.

With the right accessories, you can make warm-weather clothes more fall appropriate. So I recommend you start with your shoes. Swap out your sandals and treat yourself to a nice, new pair of black booties! I love this pair from DSW because their pointed toe makes it feel super slimming. These booties also have just the right amount of snakeskin detailing for a bit of edge.

As much as I’ll miss summer, booties can make me a happy camper. I looove a good pair of boots, so I’ve rounded up some of my other favorites from DSW to help you make a smooth transition. Check them out below!

1. Jessica Simpson Zerellah Bootie
2. Aldo Gytha Chelsea Boot
3. Audrey Brooke Cindy Wedge Bootie
4. Nine West Ophelie Bootie
5. Crown Vintage Wendy Western Bootie
6. Zigi Soho Eloise Bootie

At DSW, we believe that shoes have the power to bring out something great in everyone. So no matter who you are or how you dress, we’ve got just what you need. Shoes say a lot about you. Spend a little. Say a lot.
